I am a postgraduate from the Documentary Photography course at Univeristy of Wales, Newport (graduated in 2000). I have worked as a professional freelance photographer since graduating giving photography classes, workshops and conferences to students of all levels and ages. I have extensive experience a reportage photographer, not only in undertaking magazine assignments but also wedding and portrait work. My approach to teaching is contextual and task based. I plan and work to the individual needs of the pupil(s), making sure that the classes are instructive, concise and interesting. Whilst I strongly believe that there are benefits to reading notation, I also teach by ear and am happy to focus on this if a pupil so wishes. I encourage my pupils to bring along any music they wish to learn in addition to their set pieces.
