Personal Description:
Welcome to you in my profile!
I am Marwa, an Arabic language lover, used to dive in this amazing language to taste its beauty and discover its treasures. This passion led me to change my career as a software engineer to be a writer and teacher. And it was the best decision I ever had. Teaching Arabic is not just a job for me, it is a life where I can share my passion and guide others to live, love and learn Arabic language. It is also a window to the world so that we can share our cultures and better understand humanity. As well it is my great pleasure to support others and help them achieve their goals in learning Arabic language.
I am a native Arabic speaker from Egypt. I teach Modern Standard Arabic, Classical Arabic, Colloquial Arabic (Egyptian, Levant, Saudi & Gulf), Quran Recitation, Tajweed Rules and Islamic Studies. I teach all Arabic levels (Novice- Beginners- Intermediate- Advanced). I teach all ages (children and adults), online, one to one and in groups. I always try to be the ideal teacher that I wish for myself. Thanks to my long experience as a teacher and also as a language learner, I understand the challenges of learning a new language, the qualities and skills a true teacher should have, and how important it is to put myself in the student's shoes to see their point of view and think in their native language.
I am a fluent English speaker, very patient, supportive, encouraging, motivating, inspiring, active, organized, calm, flexible, friendly and passionate. I enjoy reading, exercising, walking outdoors, learning French and new skills, developing myself, and participating in charitable activities to help those in need and bring joy to their hearts. I have a YouTube channel where I create videos to help Arabic language learners. I am also writing a book to help learn Arabic from the Holy Quran. I wrote many short stories and novels. And I won the best short story award from the Egyptian Writers Union in 2009.
Teaching Experience:
I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ain Shams University (2003-2007), and during my undergraduate studies I was working as a journalist and writer for a popular Egyptian magazine. During my 5 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering, I was also doing my second undergraduate degree (2009-2012) so I got a BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from Cairo University, where I also got a certificate to teach Arabic as a foreign language in 2012.
During my 12-year journey, which has started in October 2012 and is still ongoing, Alhamdulillah, I have been fortunate to teach more than a thousand people from different countries of the world. I would really like to thank each and every one of you for your trust in me, the precious time you have shared with me, and the way you have enriched my life and helped me become a better teacher and a better human being. I can't forget my youngest student, the beautiful four-year-old girl, when she told me "I love you, Marwa"; my oldest student, the wise eighty-year-old man who shared impressing life lessons with me; the man who, ten years after I taught him, contacted me again so I teach his children; the lady who wrote a wonderful short story in Arabic; the one who wrote a beautiful Arabic poem; the student who I have helped to become an Arabic language teacher; those who I have taught from scratch till they have reached fluency; those who shared with me the most beautiful moments of their lives when they reverted to Islam and said the Shahada for the first time with me; those who shared with me their own dreams and how difficult they were and then a few years later contacted me to tell me with great joy that their dreams had come true; and those who have been very close to me.
Alhamdulilah I am very pleased and proud to say that I have taught school, high school, and university students and different professions such as teachers, translators, diplomats, journalists, doctors, nurses, engineers, developers, managers, businessmen, researchers, lawyers, accountants, consultants, officers and artists. I have trained two actors from USA and Australia in their roles to pronounce some Arabic phrases perfectly. I have also trained an Arab-American astronaut on the Arabic-language interview she had to do with a popular channel. I have been chosen to teach an ambassador's son and another ambassador's children. I am proud too that I have taught many new Muslims and a lot of who are interested in learning and understanding Quran and Islamic studies. I have also taught many people who enjoy traveling to Arab countries and love their cultures. I have helped a lot of people in their professional lives such as those who work with Arabs or have Arab clients, and those who work in Arab countries. I have also helped a lot of people in their personal lives, such as those who have an Arab husband or wife or Arab friends or family. As well, I have translated a lot of articles, papers, research papers, and the interfaces and contents of some websites and applications into Arabic. And I have edited and proofread some of the Arabic articles in different topics for some newspapers and magazines.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that every student is unique, so I create a customized and well-structured course according to my students' level, needs and goals. I also support my students and help them to practice the language skills (writing, speaking, listening & reading). Some like to focus more on speaking and listening, others on grammar, and others on reading or writing, so my role is to cover and meet their needs, focus on the required skills and guide them along the way to achieve their goals in learning Arabic language. I also use a wide range of learning materials and give different activities for homework assignments. And I do a small revision in beginning of each lesson and give tests frequently. I also like to share with my students some aspects of Arabic culture, customs & traditions.
It is my pleasure to be your guide in the amazing journey of learning Arabic. Let's start it!
Thank you for reading my profile!

Personal Description:
I have been teaching Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilisation since 1992. I currently teach at a Central London college and am an examiner in Latin and History for both OCR and Cambridge International A-Level. I hold a BA from the University of York and a PhD from Middlesex University.
I am the author of over forty books and a respected senior member of staff at my institution. My work spans school-level teaching, university-level instruction, and public writing on classical and educational topics.
Teaching Experience:
I teach both beginners and advanced students in Latin and Greek, and have helped many succeed in Common Entrance, GCSE, A-Level, and beyond. I have particular expertise in preparing students for scholarship exams, including the King's Scholarship at Eton, the Westminster Challenge, and the Harrow Entrance Examination.
My students have gone on to top independent schools and Russell Group universities. I have taught learners from a wide range of backgrounds, including international students and adult learners returning to the classics.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching combines clarity, structure, and exam-focused preparation. I use past papers, model answers, and close reading, always with strong attention to grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
Latin and Greek are rule-based languages. I help students internalise these rules through translation into and out of the classical languages, using adapted and original texts. This builds both exam readiness and lasting confidence in reading and interpreting ancient sources.
Where appropriate, I encourage students to explore the historical and cultural background of what they read - because the more they understand, the more they enjoy, and the more they retain.

Personal Description:
I am an avid reader who also loves singing and teaching. I studied English and Drama at Queen's University and then went to Newcastle Upon Tyne to study for a secondary English and Drama PGCE (teaching qualification). I have also worked as a full time youth worker and love working with young people. I have tutored adults and children in my spare time. More recently I have worked as a substitute teacher in Primary and Secondary and had a baby!
Teaching Experience:
I have taught secondary English for 15 years to all ability levels. I have also tutored pupils in their homes and from home and have marked GCSE English Language. I have taught primary pupils and further education pupils and taught some TEFL (English as a foreign language) too!
Tutoring Approach:
I like to get to know the person and try and tailor my approach to their needs. I have used many techniques including mnemonics to help pupils break exam questions down into smaller chunks and structure their response to ensure they thoroughly answer their questions. I also enjoy helping spark pupils' creative ideas for developing writing tasks. I try and encourage pupils to take ownership of what they write and foster awareness of how grammatical errors can go unnoticed if work is never planned or edited sufficiently.

Personal Description:
I was born in Malatya, Turkey. I attended Hacettepe University.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching in Chemistry and Science since 2002 working at several High Schools in Turkey. Between 2016 and 2019, I was working at a Science School as a Chemistry teacher. During 2 years, I coached and prepared the students for the National Chemistry Olympiad. .I have been tutoring in Chemistry, Science and Turkish lessons since July 2019 in the United Kingdom to support Turkish students.
Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring is a supportive action both the teacher and student should be involved. It is essential to strengthen the student for the areas that needed to develop. I try my best for my students who have difficulties in understanding the lessons or who want to improve themselves farther.
Especially being new in a country brings some difficulties in the school environment. Changes in the education system, language, culture challenge the families and students. Therefore to have tutoring support in Turkish helps to adapt and acclimate the students to a new education system and culture.

Personal Description:
I'm a second year biomedical science student. I took my A-Levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 2019 and GCSEs in 2017 and having recently done these exams, I know just how challenging they are.
Being a student myself and having the experience of currently tutoring students who are doing their GCSEs and A-Levels, I know the methods that work best to help your child understand the content they need to know. I understand the way young people learn very well and the ways I teach reflect this - with an extensive focus on understanding (not memorising) and application to real-world contexts so your child can appreciate the reason behind learning what they learn. In addition to this, I offer extensive exam practice to ensure they understand their course, its structure, and how to maximise marks in their exams.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching students of varying ages for over a year now in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Some of my students have been predicted As and A*s at their current level - some of them had started out at C grades when they had first come to me.
Tutoring Approach:
My aim is to work with your child to help them learn and understand the content (rather than simply memorise) so the sessions your child has with me will be greatly focused on what they would like to learn in their specification, what areas they need to improve on, and exam question practice and please be rest assured that you'll be updated about their progress regularly.

Relax and enjoy learning! I would like to share my passion for languages with you. I will support you and provide explanations in English.
I grew up in Russia, got my Bachelor's degree in St Petersburg (Regional Studies, Central and Eastern Europe) and after this I made a life changing decision to move to the UK.
I know what the language barrier is. I experienced the difficulties of moving into a new country and accepting a new culture.
I will be happy to become your learning companion and make your learning journey smooth.
I never stop learning myself. I work as an interpreter and, therefore, I constantly expand my knowledge in different spheres of life.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience in tutoring beginner's Russian and I am happy to continue helping others learn this amazing language. Beginner's level is the foundation of your future success in communication.
My professional experience in the UK covers a great range of topics for discussions (finance, insurance, travel) which will boost your confidence in speaking. I will guide you through the correct and appropriate use of grammar structures. You will get invaluable advice on how to improve your writing skills too!
Tutoring Approach:
Relax and enjoy learning! I would like us to speak the same language, and in this case - Russian. At your own pace, practise what you learn. I will provide support and clear explanations in English. I try to tailor lessons to your interests, so that your memory works better by easily absorbing vocabulary and grammar structures. Why not to learn how to say "Let's do it!" by singing a song, or memorize days of the week in Russian by reading a bed time story from your childhood?
And remember, practice makes perfect!

Personal Description:
I am a self-taught guitarist of over 20 years and am technically proficient to an advanced level, there are very few guitar techniques that I'm unfamiliar with and I am continually learning more. I've performed in a variety of venues/situations, whether as a solo performer, in a band or as part of the accompaniment for musicals, each of which require different approaches and disciplines. I've also done plenty of recorded performances which also requires a host of different skills.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years on an ad hoc basis with private students. I also currently work at Coleg Y Cymoedd, teaching live performance and music rehearsal skills for the last 2 years. I have helped students of all ages over the years go from complete beginners to accomplished players, as well as taking intermediate players and help them to learn more advanced techniques.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching method involves the same method by which I teach myself - focused practice and repetition. A lot of people try to run before they can walk, spending a couple of days learning chords then trying to play complicated lead parts. What you will work on with me, is having a solid foundation on which to build. We will work together to make sure that when you learn techniques, you learn them the right way first time. We'll do things slowly and smoothly, because slow and smooth equals fast in the long run.
Fundamentally though, we will go at your pace. Everyone learns different skills at different speeds, so there is no pressure to learn anything in a particular time frame, the key is for there to be progress little by little. Equally we will tailor lessons to your wants/needs as much as possible and so you're learning the type of guitar playing that most appeals to you.
A lot of tutors take an approach of getting you to go through guitar grades and whilst that is something we can look into if it appeals to you, I personally have never found grades to be worth anything and certainly not an accurate measurement of someone's ability/talent, so with that in mind, going through grades is not something I will be pushing you to do.
I advise for the first lesson (which is free) to be 1 hour so we can get to know each other and put together a bit of a plan for you. After that I recommend lessons be 30 minutes per lesson per week, as the main goal of lessons is for you to show me what you've practiced in the previous week and for me to then advise you on what can be improved etc., or if it's time for you to start working on something else. In my experience 30 minutes is more than sufficient to achieve this but if you feel you'd like more tuition then of course we can explore that.
Please note the rate shown is an hourly rate. 30 minute lessons will be £15 in person or £12.50 online.

Personal Description:
I am a dedicated and approachable Law and French undergraduate at the University of Bristol with a strong academic track record and extensive leadership experience. I have honed my teaching and mentoring skills through roles such as Vice President of the Debating Society, where I led workshops for younger students. My commitment to clear communication and ability to adapt my approach to different learning styles make me an effective tutor. Additionally, my experience as a volunteer during my year abroad demonstrates my ability to collaborate and provide support in diverse settings. I am eager to bring my enthusiasm and expertise to support students in achieving their academic goals.
Teaching Experience:
During my time at Downe House, I gained valuable teaching and mentoring experience through various leadership roles. As Vice President of the Debating Society, I led junior debating workshops, teaching younger students the fundamentals of argumentation, public speaking, and critical thinking. This role required me to tailor my mentoring approach to suit different skill levels and encourage confidence in their abilities. Furthermore, I've previously tutored students at a GCSE level.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is student-centered and tailored to individual learning styles, ensuring that each session is engaging, interactive, and productive. I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and express their ideas. Drawing on my mentoring experience, I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using real-life examples to enhance understanding and retention. I emphasize active learning through discussions, problem-solving, and personalized feedback to help students build their skills and confidence. My goal is not only to assist with immediate academic challenges but also to foster independent learning habits that empower students to succeed beyond our sessions.
