I initially work through an Exam paper or two with the student to identify any topics that require more in depth tuition. I will then focus on that topic for a lesson making sure the pupil understands the basics then build their confidence up applying that knowledge to answering questions, easy ones initially then building up to the required grade.

Dealing with different ages and abilities I understand that not one student is the same so I have a range of methods to answer specific questions; for example I have three separate ways to answer a multiplication question.

I am a full time Maths teacher at secondary school with a Mathematics BSc Degree. I really enjoy maths (yes this is a cliche), but I love the problem solving aspect of it and the fact there is a right or wrong answer. I always look to simplify problems and am only happy if I fully understand it. I am currently KS4 coordinator at my school and thoroughly enjoy my work and do not see myself doing any other profession.

I also teach Maths A-Level (all) and Further Maths A-Level (Core Pure 1 and 2 and Further Mechanics 1). I used to teach the old spec Decision Maths 1 and 2, so am also to help with these too. I have taught science (biology, chemistry and physics) since 2011, to all year groups from 7-13, following these exam boards and
specifications: at GCSE, AQA Science, Edexcel IGCSE Science, OCR 21st Century Science, OCR Gateway Science and WJEC Science (all including higher tier and separate biology, chemistry and physics content); at A-Level, AQA Physics, Edexcel Physics, OCR Physics A, OCR Physics B and WJEC Physics. Tutoring Approach:
In 2016, I set up my own tuition company and currently operate this full-time. Tuition has an advantage over teaching in that it enables me to better help students on an individual basis. This level of help is often difficult to achieve in a classroom environment, which can be very frustrating for both the teacher and student. Tuition also allows me control over my working hours, which in turn gives greater flexibility in planning quality lessons for students.
