Hi my name is Riyaad and I aim to help students reach their full potential in their studies using a fun and engaging approach. I currently work as the maths specialists at one of the largest primary schools in Medway

I completed my PGCE (7-14 Maths) course at Canterbury Christ Church and have experience teaching at both primary and secondary schools.
I completed an MSc in Renewable Energy at the University of Reading, where I achieved a distinction. I also completed my BSc in Quantity Surveying at the University, achieving a first classification.

I am CRB certified.

Teaching Experience:
I currently work at a large primary school in Medway, where one of my duties is to take the gifted and talented students in maths. In my first year of joining the school we were able to achieve the school's first ever level 6 in mathematics.
I currently tutor students in Primary Schools and specialise in preparing students for the 11 plus exams.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe my easy to talk to personality creates a learning environment that allows students to feel comfortable enough to ask questions and to discuss any problems. I use a range of teaching methods for example puzzles, real life examples, past papers, text books to ensure the lessons are varied and kept interesting for the students.

I dedicate my time to ensure I produce a fully tailored lesson plan according to my students' ability and to maximise the focus on any areas of weakness. I am currently studying for a Biological Sciences PhD. I have an MSc in Applied Marine Science and a first class honours BSc in Marine Biology.
I love my subject and want to share this with the next generation while helping them achieve the best that they can.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience in secondary level education in England, having completed the Student Associate Scheme at the end of my Bachelors Degree. In doing so I had experience working as a classroom assistant and running my own Biology lessons.
I have also worked as a demonstrator within the university.

Tutoring Approach:
I don't believe in giving the answers, it does not help anybody. My approach is to explore the question/problem/topic. If a question can be explored from a different angle then the answer is always reachable. Learning shouldn't be just memorising facts, but really understanding a topic. I love that moment when it just clicks!

Being a native Russian speaker, I am also a qualified teacher of foreign languages and I work as a self-employed language tutor now. I am also fluent in English (expert user: band 9 in IELTS).

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience in working in a busy academic environment teaching students of various age groups. In the last 20 years I have taught a range of courses covering English for language students, English for Special Purposes (ESP) in Engineering and Economics, Applied Stylistics, English for Academic Purposes, Russian and Theoretical Phonetics. I am highly professional in developing teaching materials and planning lessons. My freelance teaching experience is over 5000 hours of face-to-face lessons from beginners to advanced level, including training for international exams.

In my lessons, I prefer student-centred approach combining different teaching techniques depending on level and material. Every lesson is tailored to a student's needs, level and pace. I am a very well qualified and very experienced teacher of both German and English as a Foreign Language. I have a Master's of Education, a BA (Hons) in German, a PGCE and an RSA Diploma in TEFL. Having lived and worked in Germany for over seven years, I also have near-native competence in German.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching German and EFL for more than 30 years from beginners to advanced level. I used to teach German to GCSE and A level at what used to be Plymouth College of Further Education as well as EFL from Cambridge KET to Cambridge Proficiency. In addition to that I have prepared many students for the IELTS exam and I have taught Business English and English for Academic Purposes too. I have worked in the UK, Germany, Spain and the United Arab Republic.

I believe that it is essential to establish the needs of each individual student so that a tailor-made course can be designed for that particular student. That does not mean that my approach is inflexible, however - if one approach to teaching does not suit the individual learning needs of the student, I will endeavour to teach the student in a way that they are happy with and which will lead to the best possible results.
As a teacher of foreign languages I very much favour the communicative approach but I am also more than willing to teach grammar as this also plays an important role in language learning. As languages are meant for speaking I place a great deal of importance on oral work - particularly at GCSE and A level - but once again, the needs of each individual learner are paramount. For oral conversation, I am happy to teach using SKYPE.

I moved to the UK in 2004 from my home country of Latvia, and just like my students, I was a non-native speaker in a new country, trying to learn a foreign language and adapt to a new culture and way of life. I really do know how it feels to be the person who needs that extra bit of support. I have taught EFL in Japan and London; I'm into tennis and have an engineering degree, PGCE and TESOL My interests are piano, writing, travel and tennis; where I play competitively. I live in Newport Pagnell which is right next to Milton Keynes; so I am able to travel up to 10 miles in order to teach students.
I have completed a PGCE in secondary school science in London and did two placements to get practical experience. I also have qualifications in environmental science (post grad), acoustics and mechanical engineering.

Thave taught EFL at intermediate level in London for a year in groups. I have also taught schools and engineers in Japan for three years including teaching presentation, TOEIC and TOEFL. I've a TESOL (TRINITY) qualification. The Elementary schools required some knowledge of Japanese language and culture as I was often taking the class for the whole lesson.
