I am an experienced language teacher and native speaker of Arabic and German and teach at school as well as giving private lessons. Teaching at all levels and using a large variety of materials, tailored to students' ages and needs, the emphasis is on enjoying the process of learning the language at the students own pace as well as working towards specific goals where appropriate.

Teaching Experience:
I teach German in school to children aged 6-10 and have given private lessons at all levels and to all ages, children, adolescents and adults, in both German and Arabic, for many years. My background is in interpreting and translation and I moved on to teaching from there. One of my long term Arabic students is now studying Arabic at university level, many of my other students have successfully completed GCSEs and A levels in both languages and/or gone on to use both languages for work or leisure purposes.

The emphasis is on the enjoyment of the learning process, I adapt the materials used to the individual needs of my students and everything is tailored to those needs. For children the emphasis is on learning through games, play and song, for adolescents and adults games and play may still form a part of the process. I am an avid musician and educationalist, with a passion for sharing my interests in music and learning with children and young adults. Apart from a brief teaching experience in the 90s, I have mostly worked in marketing.

Oh, yes, I also ran a restaurant for a few years (beginning of the 2000s), so I am quite knowledgeable about food, wines and stuff.

I have been a teacher for many years having received my PGCE in 1992. Since that time I have worked in a variety of schools in the state and private sectors both in London and Oxfordshire. Teaching physics is a great privilege and pleasure having taught A Level physics for both OCR and Edexcel boards as well as GCSE and iGCSE physics and chemistry. I am currently in the process of creating an A-level OCR physics course for an Oxfordshire school which is both challenging and hugely rewarding as I know it will be used for the A-level students for years to come.

Head of Physics: Plan, create and teach a new programme of study for the new A level OCR physics course. Management of A -Level practical assessment and teach :A-level (OCR course)

Physics Teacher: A-Level physics (Edexcel), iGCSE physics teaching (Edexcel) . Organise and supervise rowing outings, ergo and running training for rowing crews.

Physics Teacher: Responsible for co-ordination of IT over the three science departments. A-Level physics, GCSE physics and GCSE chemistry teaching. Design and upkeep of the physics department web site. Organise and supervise ergo and running training for J14 octuple crews as well train crews on the tide way twice a week (including Saturdays). schedule with departments and administration of internal and external examinations. Writing of all internal mock examinations. Implemented changes to KS4 course based on EDEXCEL science syllabus changes. Oversaw science course work moderation based on INSET each year concerning moderation techniques and course work marking. INSET training in the managing of a science department. Responsible for the setting of all year 10 and 11 science groups. Created and hosted IT training courses for science staff. I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions.

I am an experienced tutor and understand how to make maths fun! I have been teaching for over three years across several primary schools in Ashbourne teaching years 3 to 6. I talk to the student and find out which areas they find difficult. In the lesson we go through these areas and tackle them one at a time. I can provide summer tutoring if required. I've also set up a primary maths resources business, I'm that excited about maths!

Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher having taught across several schools across Ashbourne. I struggled with maths in primary school so I had several years of maths tutoring in order to ensure that I passed GCSE maths. My tutor showed me that maths was not impossible and I decided to take it again at A level along with Further Maths AS. After a further two years of lessons (deforesting half of the planet printing off hundreds of past papers) I obtained an A* in A level maths. I used to find maths difficult. As a result I am able to explain difficult concepts. I completed my BSc in mathematics at the Open University in 2018 and am currently completing my MSc in Business and Finance at Derby University. I understand how a tutor can make a difference.

Maths isn't boring but the way that it is sometimes taught can make it seem that way. I use my own resources that I design to help engage students. By listening to the interests of each student, I try to engage their interests into the maths which makes learning much more enjoyable!
