Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring for over 16 years and have had over 400 students in that time from numerous different schools and backgrounds. My success rate is very good.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to break up whichever subject I am tutoring into the various topics that make up the syllabus. I will then go through each lesson the different topics ensuring the student has understood what I am explaining, if not I will explain it again in a different way to ensure they have understood. I will then set regular homeworks and closer to the exam time go through past papers keeping parents up to date with their childs progress. I have a clear vision in how I need to take make each student progress and this structured approach has served me very well. I always ensure my communication with my students is very good and that they enjoy their lessons aswell as learning. This sets me apart from other tutors as I am young yet still very experienced at what I do. I can sometimes be more flexible with rates and do provide group tuition which may be more cost effective for you.

Learning how to learn is important for everyone and I can help students build their own study skills , developing both abilities and confidence. My own love for learning is evidenced by my hobbies which extend from sailing through to singing, piano, camping and walking and even the piano accordion. Hello my name is Anne-Marie, I am from Ireland but have been living in the UK since 2004. This is now a place I call home. I realised I had a flare for imparting knowledge when I became a basketball trainer at 15, working with Primary and Secondary pupils. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, saw the progress the pupils I trained had made and knew from that moment that teaching was my vocation as it was and is so rewarding. I like to use an approach that suits the students I teach. I discuss what needs they have and what their interests are and work from there. I like to be well-prepared yet flexible when necessary. I like to do kineasthetic activities to keep the students engaged in their learning and use a variety of resources to enable my students to gain as much confidence when speaking, reading writing etc.

I moved to the UK in 1989 and have stayed ever since. I spent 2 years as a French Assistant in High Schools in Leeds and Harrogate and then completed a one year HND in International Business at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Following three years as 'Conference Organiser' for businesses in Dewsbury i decided i wanted to teach and returned to Leeds Metropolitan University to complete a degree in Secondary Education.

Since then i have worked as a French Teacher in Secondary and Primary schools in Yorkshire and Merseyside. Whilst bringing up my family i took the opportunity to offer private French Tuition and have been doing so ever since.
