Personal Description:
I have 30 years experience of teaching Chemistry and Biology at all levels up to A Level, and I am still teaching. This includes 7 years as Head of Department, and I am currently teaching A-Level Chemistry and Biology, plus Access courses, at a central London college.

I have 17 years experience as an examiner for OCR, Edexcel and AQA in both Chemistry and Biology at A Level and GCSE Science. I am familiar with all major exam boards in Chemistry, Biology and Environmental Science. I have also been a personal tutor for the past 28 years.

In all areas I have had excellent success and can supply references if asked. I hold an up to date DRB certificate. I am considered to be patient and understanding, but I can also be a motivator when required to help students reach their maximum potential.

Online tutoring
I am very experienced in online tutoring. Since the lockdown I have taught hundreds of hours online and have found it to be nearly as effective as face to face teaching. I am proficient in the use of different software platforms including two way online whiteboards, PowerPoint, Word, Acrobat PDF and document cameras. This allows lessons to be clear, interactive and well resourced whether we are working through revision notes, past papers or complex diagrams.

I teach A-Level, AS, GCSE, BTEC and Access courses in Chemistry and Biology, as well as GCSE and Environmental Science. I also support students applying for Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing with UCAS, personal statements and preparation for BMAT and UKCAT.

I have an LLB in English and a diplome in French law. I have worked in 2 different Swiss banks as a lawyer, in Geneva and in London before starting a family. I currently work as a French and Spanish teacher at a local private school in Esher and I also teach French, Italian and Portuguese to adults and children in their homes. I began teaching group lessons in school. After leaving school, I began training for the classroom, but I did not feel I could impact the individual in such a large group environment. While maintaining strong links with school curriculum, I began to pursue my career in individual instruction. My home based tuition serves approximately sixty five pupils at a time and my online lessons support many more, depending on the time zone.
