I am 50 years of age and have a wealth of experience in many aspects of life, including education and commerce. I have taught in colleges and schools and have run my own computer software company. I also have experience of property development. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy the challenge of helping students to achieve their best; I enjoy working one to one with students or in small groups; tutorials are tailor made for each student, based on an assessment and previous exam results. I have a BA and a BSC(hons) degree in maths and computing. I also hold qualified teacher status and a Secondary Mathematics Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

Teaching Experience:
25 years of teaching experience including 20 years teaching Motor Vehicle Technology in colleges in Cornwall, Bristol and Essex and 5 years teaching mathematics and several other subjects in secondary schools. I am also a qualified NVQ assessor for Motor Vehicle Engineering.

I am an experienced sociology tutor and proofreader having taught in the sociology department at the University of Warwick for four years and also for a short while in the School of Languages and Social Sciences at the University of Aston. (I can also tutor at this level in modern history, politics and international relations). I have BA in sociology and politics from Oxford Brookes University and an MSc in social science research methods from Sussex. I completed my doctorate at the University of Warwick. In addition to my university work, I have tutored for a private agency (where I held an advanced CRB certificate) at A-level in sociology, politics and modern history. My last DBS was held from 2023 to 2024. I have a good record of helping A-level students to achieve the grades they require for a place in higher education and I have continued this success whilst tutoring independently. I have a MA in Production Design for Film and Television from Kingston University and a BA Hons in Furniture Design and Applied Arts from Edinburgh College of Art. I have worked in the film and television industry since 2004. I lead large teams of specialist designers, art directors, junior assistants, crafts people and construction teams. And I collaborate closely with other experts within the industry including cinematographers, directors and screenwriters.

A production designer designs the worlds in which the TV Drama or film is set. That includes working with location people to choose locations in which to film - and building sets in studios. It can also involve working closely with SFX teams. The role juggles creative vision with practical project management. It's a collaborative media/ industry and relies heavily on communication skills- visual and verbal.
