My aim is to increase everyone's understanding of everything!!!

I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

This obviously makes it much easier for the parents too, because they don't have to find a separate tutor for each subject, or leave their child without the valuable one-to-one support in any of the core subjects.

I've also helped my students with pretty much every major school subject; from History and Religious Studies, to French and Spanish, and even Psychology and Health and Social Care. In fact, experience has shown me that I can help anyone to better understand anything - even something that I didn't even know myself a minute earlier!

Tutoring Approach:
My philosophy is that anyone can learn if they have a willing spirit and a patient teacher.

To develop an appropriate training program I first determine the needs of the student and work out short and long term goals. I use a variety of training methods, including demonstration, practice, memorization, and assessment.

I taught Russian and French in secondary schools in UK (1995-1999), Russian and Serbo-Croat for the Ministry of Defence (1980-2006), Basic Skills English at Bedford Prison (2007-2008) and English as a foreign language in Kishinev (Moldova,1993), Odessa (2008) and Moscow (2008-2010). Since 1995, I have been teaching mathematics. About 3 years ago I moved from London to Canterbury and have been teaching at Canterbury Steiner School as well as Canterbury FE College. I have many years experience delivering the Mathematics GCSE and A-level courses. I consider it an integral part of the course that the students develop their exam techniques during the course.

I have been in the UK since 1993 and worked as a Personal Assistant for 17 years, I am also a Personal Trainer.

Teaching Experience:
My experience to teaching is mainly through being an aunt to a 10 year old boy and an 18 year old girl - tutoring them English following their school lessons but giving more details, examples and lights on the rules of the languages and their exceptions, always aiming to reach the conversation level.

I live with my wife in Tooting, London. We have two children, one at Manchester University, the other graduated from Leeds University. I am a keen cyclist, bass guitar player and physics enthusiast!

I have 30 years experience in a Wandsworth secondary school teaching science at KS3 and KS4, and physics from KS3 through GCSE to A level.
