Personal Description:

I hold a BA Joint Hons in Spanish and Italian and an MA in Hispanic Studies, and am a fully-qualified Teacher. I have lived and taught for one year in both Spain and Italy quite recently, therefore my language is fluent and up-to-date. I have a love for languages which I like to bring to my lessons, and feel that having had both experience in the classroom, and as a private tutor, I can adapt my lessons to suit the particular context and the learner. As a non-native speaker I can easily identify the problems learners face, and outline and resolve grammatical errors in a clear fashion. Having taught secondary languages in the classroom very recently I am conscious of the current requisites of all the exam areas, and have a bank of resources tailored to suit.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught English in both Spain and Italy for one year, and have 2 years recent experience teaching Spanish and Italian at Secondary level. I have taught both Secondary students and adult learners, and can tailor my lessons to those who are studying to meet GSCE or A-level course requirements, or those who are studying for language usage on holidays.
I have taught learners of mixed levels in terms of both motivation and ability, and I always modify my teaching style to suit the learner. I have had very succesful results at both GSCE and A-level from the students I have taught.

Tutoring Approach:

I always encourage to learner to meet their full potential. As a lover of languages I feel that I actively convey my enthusiasm to the learner, which in turn makes the tutor-learner relationship more positive, and in general, makes the learner more motivated and engaged with the language.
