Personal Description:

I am an English graduate, with a first class honours degree and significant teaching experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in Cardinal Newman Catholic School in the capacity of English LSA , during which time I worked with pupils aged 11-18.

In addition to this I am experienced in individual tutoring for both GCSE and A-Level examinations, as such I have an in-depth knowledge of various exam boards and their expectations.

I have also received teacher training from professionals at Sussex University and am looking to formalise this qualification in September 2009. This initial training has equipped me with all the knowledge i need to manage the learning of individual pupils and to assess their progress.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is learner-centred. I take into account the individual strengths and weaknesses of my tutees and aim to maximise strengths and systematically build upon weaknesses.

I also tailor their knowledge towards the required standards whilst buiding in a sense of interest and enthusiasm for the subject. I believe that encouragement is key to maximising learning potential and aim to build the confidence of individual learners, no matter what their inividual concerns may be.
