Personal Description:
I'm a professional tutor and artist living and working in London. I'm as passionate about education as I am about the arts and am fascinated by the relationship between the two. Pupils can expect to find me friendly, interesting and engaging at all times.
Teaching Experience:
Three years of private tutoring with prestigious London agency The Tutor's Group.
Tutoring Approach:
Teaching is child-centered. I will work with your child to establish a programme suited to their needs which they can feel really empowered by and involved in. It is my belief that tuition outside of a school context can be extremely valuable to young people whatever their interests or ability. The new perspective that tuition in an environment they are comfortable in can transform their relationship with learning in and out of the classroom.
With all students I try to build a rapport based on their own interests and outlook. I keep sessions informal, aiming to instill a genuine interest in the subject at hand, allowing students to develop a strong work ethic that really means something to them. I can keep things interesting with a wide variety of inspirational activities, ranging from Origami to Mind-Mapping, encouraging the student to become aware of his or her own learning process.
I teach all subjects from Primary level to Common Entrance level and Key Stage 3 (age 14)
At GCSE I teach Maths, English and Sciences plus Drama, Art and Design and History of Art
At A level I teach Art, Art History, English and Drama.
I can provide coaching for interview and exam technique, mentoring and for those students hoping to enter Higher Education in the Arts I can provide advice and assistance in assembling a portfolio.
