Personal Description:
I have been teaching for over 5 years and am always looking for new ways in which to broaden my experiences. I have recently been working in the Middle East. Teaching and traveling abroad has given me the opportunity to experience a rich variety of cultures. I have found this experience invaluable to understanding the needs of students from many different cultures.
As a teacher it is my aim to meet the needs of my students through encouragement and motivation ensuring that each student reaches their potential.
Teaching Experience:
I am an enthusiastic person with a motivation for teaching. Since completing my PGCE, I have enjoyed 5 years teaching experience in both International and British Comprehensive Schools. I am a versatile teacher and have experience of teaching Design Technology, Art & Design and English to GCSE standard. I have taught a wide range of abilities and delivered the National Curriculum and the Middle Years Program to a variety of secondary age groups. I have designed and refined many projects and resources to meet the needs of my students.
Tutoring Approach:
As an experienced teacher I know how important it is for students to receive one to one time with someone who can help implement and support the work that the student has been learning.
I like to motivate my tutees/students by trying lots of different strategies to find what works for the individual. I am approachable and offer encouragement when needed.
Depending on the nature of the subject, I like to use learning aids and visuals to help the learning process.
