Personal Description:

I am a recent PhD in Optical communications and optoelectronics in the Electrical and Electronic department, University of Nottingham. I possess qualifications in a wide range of subjects ranging from Physics, Electronics and Mathematics. I enjoy Maths and computers (both as a hobby and academic) and I am a very enthusiastic person who loves solving problems and deriving satisfaction from finding solutions. I have been trained to be analytical in my thinking and problem solving approach.

Tutoring Approach:

I usually take the famous "tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, tell them what you have told them" to teaching a particular topic of a subject. Involvement of the tutee in the process is of utmost importance. Further, apart from addressing particular problems that the tutee has in a particular subject (subject area), it is important to revise and revisit general principles and place the subject area in context. Feedback from the tutee is very important: both on the methods employed as well as (and more importantly) assessing the tutee (in terms of assignments) on the material that has been discussed. It is always important to include a few sessions about problem solving techniques and approaching examinations.
