Personal Description:

I am a qualified and experienced English teacher, with a passion for my subject and a history of success in my field. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in English, as well as a Certificate for English Language Teaching (CELTA). I work with young learners as well as adults. In addition, I have three years EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teaching experience, three years non-teaching employment, and a degree in English Literature and French.

Teaching Experience:

I have been an English Tutor for over 2 years. Prior to this, I taught English (language and Literature) in a large English department at a mixed comprehensive school in Gloucestershire (rated "outstanding" by OFSTED). I am experienced in teaching SATs, GCSEs and A-levels. Before teaching in a secondary school, I taught English as a Foreign Language for 3 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs. I adapt during my lessons to the student's understanding, listen to their contributions, and act upon them. I believe in a vibrant, dynamic and active teaching style that involves and engages students, creating materials and resources for an effective and successful lesson. My lessons push students to reach their maximum potential and to achieve successful results.
