Information About Mariam:
Personal Description:
I have now graduated three times: first from the University of Liverpool with a high 2:1 in Politics and Philosophy; secondly from the University of Brighton with a Merit in the Graduate Diploma in Law; and, most recently from the University of the West of England with a Very Competent (79%) on the Bar Professional Training Course (the professional legal qualification required to train as a barrister).
I have recently moved to the Sherborne area.
When I was 12 I won an academic scholarship to a prestigious private school in Oxfordshire, and went on to achieve 4 A* grades, 4 A grades and 2 B grades at GCSE as well as good A'level results in English Literature, French and History.
Teaching Experience:
I have had previous experience teaching Spanish pupils English as a foreign language and coaching pupils for Maths GCSE and both the 11+ and 13+ common entrance examinations.
I have materials for various different examination boards for Maths, English Language, English Literature and History GCSE.
Tutoring Approach:
I think that each individual tutee requires a different approach but these individually tutored needs can still be set effectively around a core syllabus. With regards to coaching for entrance examinations, as well as exams such as SATS and GCSE's, I believe that the more at ease you are with the examination situation, the easier it is to achieve your best in the final examination. Therefore, I think that it is important to use past papers in order for the tutee to become familiar with the type of questions which will appear, as well as identifying any consistent mistakes.
