Personal Description:
Recent graduate with academic experience in History, English and Media Studies. Also have good knowledge of film studies, teaching English as a foreign subject, and entrance exams/essays or CVs. Flexible and reliable, I cater to the individual's needs and encourage not only knowledge of the desired area, but good studying techniques and practices. I'm calm and patient, and work to the student's pace of learning rather than a specific work schedule.
Teaching Experience:
No academic qualifications, but have tutored foreign students from home for 4 years, and assisted GCSE and A-level students previously. Been involved in several teaching workshops, particularly for children.
Tutoring Approach:
I respect individual approaches to learning, and work out with the student the best way for them to develop. I understand the need to feel comfortable with the material, and attempt to find ways for students to respond individually, rather than force my way of teaching upon them. I prefer to be interactive, rather than completely text-based, and encourage discussion and involvement rather than lectured-style teaching.
