Personal Description:

I am 35 years old and a mother of two young daughters. I am a very active person who loves new challenges. Due to my great interest in the science I studied sciences throughout my A levels and completed a Zoology degree at university. I am passionate about my subject and love the opportunities I have been given to inspire and enthuse students. I enjoy developing relationships with students, building their confidence and pushing their understanding as far as possible. I find teaching a very rewarding experience and as such hope that I can help other students out of the classroom to help achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a very successful teacher for 12 years and have been in the position of Head of Faculty at a very successful comprehensive school in Ipswich for the last 3 years. I have worked in a total of three schools each with very different catchments and approaches and as a result believe I have acquired skills to teach to a very wise range of personalities and abilities. In each school I have been offered promotional opportunities. In ofsted inspections I have been rated as very good to excellent.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is important to prepare thoroughly for each individual tutees needs. I teach through discussion , activities and value pupils views and opinions on the learning process. I believe that learning can be an fun experience and when it can be related to every day experiences it enhances understanding. I prepare work according to the needs of the tutee, which includes homework activities, marking and assessment of all work completed. I hope to build up the understanding and confidence of the tutee in the subjects needed so they can go on to be more successful in achieving their goals.
