Information About Henry:
Personal Description:
I am an Associate Tutor in the School of Humanities at the University of Sussex, and a PHD student in History. I am passionate about education and the humanities, especially history and english, and hope to share my enthusiasm with my students. I have a 1st class BA in American Studies (History) and a MPhil in History, from the University of Sussex.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught a first-year University level course in humanities at Sussex University during the Winter, Spring and Summer of 2007-8, and will be continuing my teaching in the upcoming academic year. I have also tutored a number of GCSE level students in History and English, and worked as a mentor to GCSE students in Brighton schools.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to develop a clear set of goals with the student, focusing, in particular, on those areas of study which the student finds especially challenging. My aim is to help the student grow in confidence in the subject, in order to obtain not only better grades but a better experience in education.
