Personal Description:

I am a 24 year old teacher with a passion for teaching. I am interested in current affairs, the environment and social issues as well as music, film and literature. I am a happy, confident person who enjoys making a difference to the lives of all people what ever background. I find meeting new people and discovering new cultures exciting and rewarding. I am willing to meet any students informally so they can judge whether they would like me as their tutor.

Teaching Experience:

After studying History and Politics at university I started working at a large city college in Cardiff. I worked for the Learning Support team where i had to support students with varying learning difficulties and disabilities. This provided me with a solid understanding of educational insititutions and student focused learning.

My main roles and duties have been:

To plan, prepare, deliver lessons and formally assess student's progress in accordance with Edexcel and City and Guilds curriculum.

To prepare, invigilate and mark exams.

To attend professional meetings and relevant training.

Subjects taught this year include Basic English Literacy Skills, IT, Gardening and Citizenship - Rights and Responsibilities (a module I developed from scratch)

Tutoring Approach:

I am a young, enthusiastic teacher with a relaxed yet organized style. I believe in mixing lecture based lessons with mentoring roles by doing so I provide a platform for students to learn and research themselves using me as a guide. Furthermore I like to use the newest resources available and am always keen to learn and adapt to the needs of the individual learner.
