Information About Andrew:

Personal Description:

I have recently graduated from the University of Bath with a first class degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I am friendly, patient and have a good sense of humour.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a qualified assistant coach in my local badminton club for a number of years, coaching junior players from the age of 6. For a period of two years, I taught a person with special needs how to use a computer.

More recently, I have started working as a online TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) tutor for a French company. I teach both school children and adults.

Tutoring Approach:

Because there are many reasons why someone might want to have tuition, my approach to tutoring depends on individual needs and preferences, which we can discuss before we start. I like to think that the enthusiasm I have for science comes across in my teaching. Learning should be enjoyable and I try to teach with this in mind, without forgetting of course that we're all going to need to pass exams at some point! On this note, come exam time, I will work through practice papers with my tutees. During a period of tuition I will also set manageable pieces of 'homework', which will help tutees consolidate what they've learnt whilst giving me the opportunity to monitor and feedback on their progress. If preferred, I'm also also happy to teach small groups.
