Personal Description:
I am an experienced Artist Tutor, having worked as an artist for many decades and as a tutor for many years.
Qualified in Art and Design, my skills range from Textiles and Printing, all aspects and media of Drawing and Painting, hand drawn and computer animation, location sketching and painting, both film and digital photography, printmaking.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught classes with Cardiff Council, National Childrens Homes, various schools, colleges, charities, galleries and other organisations. I have also taught Art lessons onboard cruise liners. I teach classes privately upon request. I organise, lead and tutor my own Painting Holidays running several every year in the UK and abroad.
I can tutor at all levels.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching style is friendly, gentle and encouraging, concentrating on bringing out the natural abilities and styles of the individual. I teach individuals, families or groups of all ages and levels. Groups are tutored with group exercises plus individual attention for every learner. I try to teach the person first and the subject second - to accommodate individual learning needs.
Learning Art should be fun, theraputic, meditative, intellectually stimulating and challenging. Learners should develop practical , mental, observational and communication skills.
