Personal Description:

I'm a 44 year old IT professional and family man with 4 children. I'm an approachable, friendly person with strong communication and interpersonal skills. I've worked most of my adult life in Local Government but have also worked in the private sector.



Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching IT skills to formal and informal groups and individuals for 15 years. Subjects taught range from basic introductions to using computers, to specific tuition relating to (for example) ECDL or academic qualifications such as Standard or Higher Grade. I also provide tuition tailored to a customer's specific needs (for example, web design).



Tutoring Approach:

My flexible and student-centric approach to teaching is based around providing practical tuition in a situation that's as comfortable and as stress free as possible, which usually means your own home. Tutorials are individually created to suit you, and can also be structured to match the National Curriculum. My teaching methods identify and build on your strengths, while highlighting areas for development and providing the guidance required.
I will happily visit any potential student, at no charge, to discuss your individual requirements and develop a course structure.

Qualifications:

  • HND Computing
  • In-house training (Local Gov) from 1 day to 2 weeks on subjects below
  • MS Word/Excel/Access Core user & Developer levels
  • 20 years IT experience from DOS on 286 processor PC's to Vista on the latest Pentiums
