Wasim - Shepherd's Bush tutor
Information About Wasim:
Personal Description:
I am an Aerospace Engineering Graduate with First Class Honours. As a student at University, I was ranked number 1 with a top average of 80% and as a result I have been honoured as the Top Engineering Graduate of the Year. At A-Levels I have passed the exams (Examining board - Edexcel) with straight A grades, and my mathematics mark in particular was ranked among the top in the world.
I am extremely efficient, reliable and able to adapt to people of all backgrounds and cultures. I have excellent time keeping skills and look forward to planning ahead. I am currently tutoring a large number of GCSE, A/L and University students on group and individual bases.
Teaching Experience:
I have been working for 'First', 'UK' and 'Home' tutors for about three years where I have been tutoring students at three main levels - GCSEs, A/Ls and University. I have also been a teacher for some time at my sixth-form where I taught Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics for GCE A/L students. I could not continue teaching there because I had to continue my higher education.
The majority (about 70%) of my students have attained 'A' grade in subjects which I have helped them with. The rest have attained 'B' and 'C' (minority) grades. There has not been any grades lower than a 'C' ever since I have been a tutor. I think this is a phenomenal record and I have been working hard to keep this standard of teaching at its highest level.
Tutoring Approach:
I approach students in many ways, however, this depends on the student's character, his learning abilities and how well he knows the subject. I would always be very friendly with the tutee and get to know where he/she stands in the subject(s). There will a faster rate of teaching with regular homework given to students to ensure that they understand what they will be taught. As the exams approach it will be a matter of fast track revision, doing past-papers and going though marking schemes. I strongly believe that this would increase the student's ability and confidence, and thus leading to better performance in their examinations. In short, good results would be assured for students with genuine interest in their studies.
