Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic person, who puts in 100% effort to whatever I turn my hand to.
I am friendly and enjoy meeting new people and students.
My interests include keeping up to date with latest film and book releases, dining with friends and when I have some time, going to the theatre.
Recently I have also been trying to get in shape by going to Salsacise classes twice a week at my local leisure centre.
I am extremely excited about hearing from potential clients.
Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified teacher, currently working in a secondary comprehensive school where my classes range from Year 7 to Year 11. I am extremely passionate about teaching, and as I have said I am very enthusiastic, which I feel confident comes across throughout my lessons. During a recent lesson observation I was awarded a level 1, which translates as an outstanding OFSted lesson.
I have been privately tutoring two students for the past year and feel ready to take on more tutees now. As well as this I have also worked for SUL language school during the summer holidays, where I enjoyed working with students from overseas.
During my training at West Buckland I particualrly enjoyed working in the EFL department with the students from Hong Kong who were of a range of ages.
I would welcome requests to tutor students in any of the subjects I have listed from KS2 to KS5, as well as adults who would like some tuition.
Tutoring Approach:
My main aim is to make English come alive for students, whatever their age. I try to be fair and consistent, and assist students in raising their confidence levels.
I realise that whilst English might be my passion, for some it is difficult and uninspiring. I look forward to working with such students and helping them find a window for enjoyment within literacy.
I am fully committed to providing value for money, an example of this would be, a student I have been working with has recently been set a project to complete as part of their homework. As well as encouraging them with suggestions for putting this project together I have also arranged a day trip where the student can gain more information to enhance their project.
As well as tutoring in literacy skills, I am also happy to assist with homework assignments and coursework.
