Sanar - Islington tutor
Information About Sanar:
Personal Description:
I have established a French innovative coffee shop in London where I have been working as a Managing Director/Entrepreneur for over 4 years. This allowed me to implement all the theories of accounting and Finance learned during my studies. Previously to this, I have worked as a financial consultant in Top Tier 1 Investment banks in London for more than 2 years.
Graduated from Imperial College London with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and from Imperial College Business School with a Master of Science in Finance. My academic performance in Mathematics and Physics have always been excellent. In fact, I received the first prize in Physics and the third in Mathematics during the National Moroccan Baccalaureate. In addition, I received a prize in Statistics and a Scholarship from University of Surrey.
During my studies at Imperial College, I have mainly chosen quantitative modules and statistics. I believe that my theoretical knowledge combined with my industry experience will allow me to teach any related subjects to Mathematics and Business/Finance.
I have studied Mathematics in several languages so I am familiar to teach in the following languages: Arabic, Persian, French and English.
Teaching Experience:
I started teaching as a part-time job when I was on my second year of my Bachelor (2005). I was giving private tuition's for A level and Foundation year students in Mathematics and this included Probability & Statistics, Quantitative Methods.
After the completion of my Bachelor (2007), I continued teaching Mathematics Related Subjects for undergraduate students in their first and second year at University College London, City University
(CASS business School) , Queen Mary, Westminster.
On 2008, once I finished my Master and my summer internship, I was able to teach further subjects more related to business studies and I continued to teach other subjects. During 2009-2011, I tutored on full-time basis numerous students from London Universities and Business School.
In addition, I also have students who contact me before the beginning of their course where I assist them with tuition during the entire course.
To sum up, I am very confident in teaching the following subjects:
- Mathematics for A level and Foundation year
- Quantitative Methods or any Mathematics related subjects for Undergraduate Students
- Financial Accounting and Management Accounting for Undergraduate Students
- Financial Modules: Corporate Finance, Options, Futures and so on for undergraduate and master students
- Statistics for mainly all levels
- Economics for First year undergraduate students
Tutoring Approach:
For A level students, I teach all unsolved & solved problems(in books) giving extra examples that help students to solve related problems efficiently. They follow tidy and methodical approach to any problem. The most important point is that I try my best to explain complex theory by giving very basic and simple example in order to assimilate and comprehend easily.
For undergraduate and master students, I first take look at the lecture notes, the exercises and the past papers for the module. This step is very important since university follows different teaching methods. As I am quite flexible in my methodology, I can adapt to any lecturers notes. Then I work a strategy based on the number of lecture notes and how related are they with the exam requirements.
Finally, I am very outgoing person and I love what I am doing i.e. I enjoy teaching, I remember the first time I taught when I was 16! For this reason, all my students get comfortable with me :)
Teaching is my passion :)
