Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Rachna Vyas and I am a degree-level educated mental health specialist. I am currently on extended leave from employment - the nature of my work means that i am in constant contact with people of all ages, including children who need extra attention. This is one of the best parts of my work - I am a 'people person', I enjoy rewarding work, especially when it comes to working with children and young people.

I am a married mother of two boys, both of whom I adore. They are a blessing and have taught me a lot about life and its true meaning. I feel that if I can help enrich the lives of others, including my own family, then i have done something worthwhile with my life!

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored 6 young people who are children of my family & friends. The qualifications they have gained have been excellent and I feel they reflect the quality of my tutoring. The ages have ranged from 10-19 and I have also coached my peers throughout university.

As part of my work in mental health, i give training on various subjects, sometimes to groups of up to 15 people. M feedback has always been excellent and the few constructive criticisms that I have had, I have taken on board and adapted my style.

Tutoring Approach:

I do not believe in a single approach to tutoring as all my tutees have had different styles of learning. My initial approach is to talk to or observe the tutee and find out how they learn and what works for them. All i ask from the tutee is honesty and an open, willing approach to learning the subject.

I provide regular reports to parents and the tutee and will always ask for feedback from both - if something is not working, then we will all work together and adapt until we get it right!
