Christopher - Leeds tutor

Information About Christopher:

Personal Description:

My first degree was in Linguistics and I am now just completing a PhD in Computer Science. I have a very wide education and range of interests as I have lived in several countries around Europe.

Teaching Experience:

For many years I taught English as a foreign language in Greece so I have considerable experience in teaching both in the classroom and one on one. I was especially successful tutoring people because they found me friendly and approachable.

More recently I have taught courses in my university department on the technical subjects I research.

Tutoring Approach:

Good tutoring occurs when there is a good relationship between teacher and student. I try to make the student feel that no matter how basic their question they should feel at ease to ask it, and I on my side will explain the subject or problem in an appropriate manner. Each child is different, and each child may need a different approach to get the best out of them. It is very important for the tutor to be flexible and sensitive to the needs of the child in terms of presentation of material, manner of explanation or just style of teaching.
My students usually leave me very successful and very pleased with their experience.
