Information About Kirsty:


Personal Description:

I am 24 and since I was 16 have worked with children in some form. I still currently work in a creche and as a babysitter on occasion. I haven't tutored before however I have a range of teaching experience. I believe in being firm but fair and children respond well to it. Children work best when they are having fun and that is something I hope to incorporate into my tutoring.



Teaching Experience:

I am currently in my NQT year, teaching a Year 5 class. I have a range of abilities that I cater to there and things are going well. During my time in University I also gained experience in Years 1 and 3. I have been a nanny as well as a camp councillor and have a lot of teaching strategies from each of them.



Tutoring Approach:

I think it's important to go back to where children are in their learning, rather than where they should be. I think children learn best by using a variety of different meduims and ways. It's important to find out the best way that children learn and in one on one tutoring you are given the opporuntity to do this by focusing on the individual child. I teach in a way that is fun, relaxed and personal.
