Samantha - Canterbury tutor
Information About Samantha:
Personal Description:
I am a qualified primary teacher who also holds degrees in history and law. I am incredibly passionate about education and learning, and believe I can capture your interest and enthusiasm for my subjects. Learning should be fun after all!
I am professional alongside being flexible, approachable and friendly. My career history spans industries including education, childcare, law, retail, publishing, luxury goods and sport.
My hobbies include reading, creative writing, history, art and tennis.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified primary teacher with over 5 years working experience in the education industry. I have worked in early years, primary, secondary and higher education settings. As a result, I have experience across a wide age range of learners.
I am confident in teaching the full range of primary curriculum subjects, as well as English, history and law to higher levels. In my teacher training and career in primary education, I am classed as a 'very good to outstanding' teacher (including a recent Ofsted Inspection - 2014).
I have also been a tennis coach and a university student mentor (history), where I assisted fellow students with any aspect of their studies including subject knowledge and pastoral concerns.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to ensure my learners have personalised provision - this means we cover topics and progress at a pace suitable to your personal learning needs.
I get to know my learners as individuals. I take the time to build up a rapport and find out their interests and passions, which I then attempt to bring into my planning and lessons. I find this to be hugely motivational. You will learn best if you are motivated and enjoying the topics!
I am happy to tutor from my own home, where I have an office space specifically set up for teaching, or over the Internet.
