Information About Letitia:
Personal Description:
I am currently an A Level student studying English Literature, Chemistry, Biology & Maths. I'm planning to study Medicine in the future as the Sciences & Maths are my main interests. I studied at Stretford Grammar School, receiving 10 A-A* & a B grade at GCSE.
Teaching Experience:
I self taught the 11+ at age 11, receiving a place in a top Grammar School and also helping another student secure a place through tuition. I've tutored friends and family throughout my academic studies, helping them to secure the top grades.
Tutoring Approach:
I take an active approach to studying and disagree with just handing students a book and letting them work alone - instead I make flashcards of the important formula within a topic, giving them to my students to learn alone and look at every day to memorise. I work through examples with the student, teaching them the method and making sure they fully understand it before they attempt the work. If the student understand a concept and topic very well, I'll go above and beyond the syllabus to push the knowledge further and develop a deeper understanding so that any exams seem easier compared. I also provide work for them to complete in their own time, so that they're getting value for their tuition and so that I can see what they find difficult. I frequently test the tutees to measure their improvements and to see any weak topics that need to be worked on so that I can plan and adapt the sessions based on this.; These methods have worked not only for me, but everyone that I've helped in the past.
