Personal Description:

I am a Cambridge Economics graduate (2.1) and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
I have experience of working in the business world which adds especially to my Economics tutoring.
I have science A levels - Maths (A), Biology (A), Chemistry (B).

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for over two years and enjoy it very much.
I tutor and teach part-time at Collingham (Independent GCSE & A level) College in Kensington, currently teaching iGCSE Economics and A level.
Last Easter I taught A level Economics at Magdalen College School in Oxford,
(the school came 4th in A level league tables for Independent schools, as per Daily Telegraph 2013) on their Easter Revision course, so am very up to date with the material, covering all three boards.

I have had many great including one recent pupil achieved 100% in her Unit 1, AS level and another went from a U grade in unit 2 to a B grade.
I have also trained as a coach and I believe this adds to my tutoring effectiveness.

I have successfully tutored 11+ maths for pupils who have gained entry to
Ibstock, Emanuel (for 2013 entry), Francis Holland and Mill Hill schools.

I have a natural rapport with children and they very much enjoy my tutoring and they make rapid progress, numerous of my pupils have been moved up into the top maths set.
I would say I have an old-fashioned approach to teaching and make sure they know the basics but also I bring in things to make it more interactive for them - such as newspaper articles.
I think it also helps that I have worked in the business world, so I have a much more in depth and real world based understanding of the subject. I make sure they have a good knowledge of graphs as there are good marks to be had for these! And that they can explain their arguments in a logical step by step fashion.

• Maths A level - grade A
