Simon - Hatfield tutor
Information About Simon:
Personal Description:
I am qualified twenty-two year old English teacher and I have recently returned from Medellin, Colombia. I am studying a masters in Globalisation and Political Economy of Latin America at the Institute for the Study of the Americas in London from September. I am a keen sports fan and I enjoy playing football. I really enjoy helping people to understand new things and I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching.
Teaching Experience:
I spent a year teaching English language and literature in Cumbres School, one of Colombias leading bilingual, private high schools. I have also given evening classes at Brooke House Sixth Form College, in Hackney, London. These classes were in History and Politics, which were also the subjects I studied at Queen Mary University for my undergraduate degree. I am now studying a MSc in Globalisation and Latin American Development, which focuses on politics, history and economics. I worked as an English teacher for two months at Oxford Brookes University in the summer, teaching children from a variety of countries at a language summer school. I now teach additional Saturday classes at Chase Community School in English and Mathematics. I also tutor A-Level and GCSE History and English Literature.
Tutoring Approach:
I pride myself on always providing enthusiastic and energetic classes, which are largely centred on student interaction. I am extremely knowledgable and experienced in the areas I have offered to teach and I have a genuine passion for each. This is reflected in my tutoring approach and I hope to not only help students develop a greater understanding, but also to instil a passion which is essential when looking to maximise your potential.
