Personal Description:
I'm an engineer with the following qualifications
PhD, MSc (Eng), BEng (Hons)
I have worked in the Univeristy of Liverpool for a number of years within the Computer Electronics and Robotics Group as a research associate. I've developed Computerised XRay radiographic systems using DSP and FPGA to grab images from a digital XRay scintillator. High Speed Object Tracking software. And robotic welding machines with software control systems.
I've also 4 years thereafter developing web sites as a freelancer. I've developed a CMS system for the dept of Health (kc.csip.org.uk) eCommerce systems and brochure sites. All sites were developed in PHP, MySQL.
Teaching Experience:
I was a teaching assistant at the University during my PhD and employment.
I taught second year electronics, and Computer Systems 1 and Computer Systems 2 at MSc(Eng) level.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring techniques consist of asking questions to make students think and direct them towards the answer. Giving as many examples as possible to encourage students to approach or look at a problem in a different way.
