Andrew - Luton tutor

Information About Andrew:

Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Andrew but everyone calls me Andy. I am a recent graduate from the University of Kent at Canterbury.
I hold a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics along with a first class honours Bachelors degree in Mathematics.
My particular strengths are the applied and physical side, though I am well grounded in all areas of mathematics.
Both my degrees and A-level qualifications mean I am also comfortable in physics and computer science.

Teaching Experience:

Since completing my A-levels I have tutored many friends and family on a one-to-one basis, usually in the run up to exam season. I have been told that this help was beneficial in helping them obtain good grades.
During my University career I was able to take this further by teaching and assisting in undergraduate classes.
I also took the opportunity to mark students' coursework. This certainly gave me a feel for the common pitfalls and errors that can occur, and taught me how best to correct these so that the student can understand their mistakes and learn from them.

Tutoring Approach:

Different peoples personalities effect the way they best learn, so I try to adjust my teaching style to suit this. However that being said, I have found that for any person a relaxed and friendly environment in which the student can feel comfortable is always conducive to work.
I like to encourage the students to ask questions freely about any point they don't understand clearly so that if need be I can try to explain the point in another way.
