Information About Stephen:

Personal Description:

My Name is Stephen I am currently employed by a secondary that is a specialist in ICT and Maths. I am 35 and currently live in South Liverpool and can travel within 15 mile radius.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified (BA hons ICT & Business, PGCE ICT) full time ICT Teacher looking for tutor work. I currently teach at a secondary school 11 - 18 years and teach key stages 3, 4 and 5.

I have taught ICT and Business for 3 years for the following qualifications:

OCR Nationals - ICT
BTEC - ICT & Business
AQA A Level - ICT
AQA A Level - Business
AQA AS Level - ICT
AQA AS Level - Business
OCR AS Level - ICT
OCR A2 Level - ICT
GNVQ - ICT
ECDL - ICT

I have also moderated coursework, written schemes of work, key stage 3, 4 and 5 assessments and designed a Virtual Learning Environment from inception to delivery for over 550 pupils.

Rates of pay are 20 per hour.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very flexible approach to tutoring and although this is my first time tutoring privately I have done one to one tutoring in schools before. A 'one size fits all' approach I believe does not work. Some children often do not understand certain subjects or certain aspects of a subject. Sometimes the child will feel they are not being pushed or challenged enough in school and may wish to progress to a higher level but find their teachers in school do not have time to devote to them for this.

I understand that all children learn differently and have written schemes of work that are accessible to all learning styles and abilities for this very reason. So whether your child needs extra help to access the curriculum better or wants a push to a higher level I can meet their requirements for this.

Even if it is just help with coursework for Key Stage 4 or 5, I have moderated externally and internally coursework for both ICT and Business Studies so can always spot where more marks can be achieved.
