Information About Sabeehah:

Personal Description:

Hello there,
I am a native English speaker, and I have recently graduated with a First Class Honours in English from a top Russell Group University, which boasts an Internationally recognised English faculty, which means I had the opportunity to benefit from the teachings of influential scholars from the literary world. Students will benefit from my experiences, and I aim to offer an innovative and exciting take on English Literature and Language to ensure that they both achieve and exceed their potential. I am in the process of establishing my own tutoring business, as well as paving out a career path as a freelance writer.

Teaching Experience:

I am a professional English tutor, and have worked with students of all abilities from Secondary School right up until University for over 4 years now. I have spent 4 years tutoring privately in 1-1 and group sessions, as well as online. I have spent 2 years working in a supplementary school, where I worked with large groups of students from 11-19 years old of mixed abilities. I planned my lessons judiciously, set and marked homework, and prepared my GCSE classes for their exams. I have moved students from C grades, to A/B and even A* grades. My experience means that I am familiar with the current GCSE/A Level curriculum. I have also taught students English from all over the globe, not just academically, but also in terms of spoken English. I have much experience proof-reading and editing top University level essays written by students who attend the country's top Academic Institutions. In addition to this, I have accumulated over 600 hours of Skype and Online Tutoring using interactive educational software such as VLE/Blackboard, Moodle and WizIQ. Using these software, I have accumulated over 150 hours of teaching English as a Foreign Language to young learners and adults across the globe, including India, the UAE and Japan, with particular interest in business and interview skills for those wishing to work overseas in predominantly English speaking countries, conversational practices as well as for academic purposes.

I am also a freelance editor and proofreader, and have worked with students from top academic universities to assist them with their essays and dissertations. I have worked with students across a range of disciplines, including Psychology, Sociology, Early Learning Years and Childcare, Criminology and History.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, regardless of whether I am teaching at GCSE, A-Level or University level, or English as a foreign language, I aim to encourage my students to identify with the subjects, to understand the content and what is expected of them by their examiners, but, most importantly, to enjoy them. It would be unwise for me to say that I have a standard tutoring approach for all my students. Instead, I work closely with my tutees, and use my extensive experience to gauge what grades they are working at, pinpointing the areas we need to work on, and then tailoring my lessons to suit their academic and personal educational needs. I can guarantee that regardless of their abilities and potentials, all my students unquestionably thrive and make excellent progress throughout our sessions together.
