Information About Karen:


Personal Description:

I have a degree from Liverpool University, and a PGCE from Anglia University. I also trained as an Every Child Counts Teacher. I have had a large amount of experience tutoring individuals and small groups, both within the classroom and on a private basis.I am 39, and married with 2 young children.



Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher with 8 years experience. I have taught across the primary age range and I am confident and experienced with the National Curriculum. I have also taught small groups who need additional support and I find this is where my skills lie. My particular strengths lie in identifying gaps in maths or in phonics knowledge, and in working to build children's confidence.



Tutoring Approach:

I always make my tutoring sessions fun, face paced and enjoyable. I use lots of games and practical resources. I always begin with finding out what the pupil currently understands, and then I help them progress to the next stage. I am always positive and use lots of praise, as I believe that confidence is fundamental to a students progress.
