Personal Description:

Hi,

I am a half-French half-British student, currently finishing my masters degree at SOAS, University of London. I have lived in France my whole life until I left for university at 17, and speak fluent French and English (bilingual).
I also speak Spanish as i have been studying this language for over a decade and have lived in Madrid in the past.

I will be in London until September, and am hoping to give private lessons to pupils in need!
I love to work with people on a one-to-one basis, children and adults alike, and have enjoyed tutoring in the past.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring children since I was 16 in English when i lived in France.
I tutored a GCSE level English student for 6 months in 2008 to pass his French GCSE, which he did with flying colours!

When i was living in Spain, i worked with a tutoring and translation agency and had 6 students from the ages of 6 to 40, which i taught English or French on a weekly basis.

More recently, I was tutoring adults and university students in Birmingham, mostly in French.

Tutoring Approach:

I very much enjoy teaching as i consider a one-to-one approach more efficient in the learning process for languages.
I am highly flexible in my teaching methods and like to work with the student to find out what they need to work on.
For small children i like to teach with games, songs, and manual activities which will help them to practice their understanding and speaking.
For older children, I usually work with them to understand their needs, and focus on an objective (such as get an A at GCSEs). I use school exercises as well as my own methods.

With adults, i like to listen to the person's needs and discuss with them a method of learning that we agree on together. It depends if you are preparing for an interview, revising an exam or getting ready to live in a French speaking country, the teaching and methods will vary!
I teach anything from conversation, writing and spelling, reading and understanding or grammar.

I am flexible to come to your house if you are in zone 1, but I can also teach at my flat (i live in Vauxhall).
