Personal Description:

Practising teacher in his 50s with up-to-date experience of teaching Computing, including the new AQA syllabus and the other A-level syllabuses. Familiar with the new on-screen examinations. Prior industrial and commercial experience in programming. (Can also consider level 3/4 vocational student tutoring).

Very good final grades and value-added results, significantly above National Average. Highly competent with Visual Basic, Pascal, Access and other languages. Many years experience of supporting students' Programming Projects.

Strong theory teaching, with a lot of focus on examination style questions.



Teaching Experience:

Currently teaching at an FE/HE College, previously Head of Computing at a London 6th Form College (Ofsted Grade 1)

CRB checked and can provide copy of Certificate of full Professional Standards achievement for teaching in 6th Form Colleges.



Tutoring Approach:

According to student needs. Adaptable to student situation and learning style. Produce most of my own teaching materials. Can delivery highly structured lessons, or interact with student-identified areas of difficulty. Whichever works for the individual student.
