Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of Bath working towards a Masters in International Education. I'm an American who recently moved here after graduating with a Bachelors in Education from Boston College. I love teaching and working with kids!
Teaching Experience:
As part of my degree, I taught students from age 5 - 13. I also have plenty of experience working one on one through tutoring sessions with students who have a first language that's not English. On top of this, I was a lead teacher and assistant program director for an afterschool program for students aged 3 - 13.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring approach is similar to my teaching approach. I think the most important thing is to ensure that the student is interested and enjoying what they're studying. If a student is not interested in the material then they're not going to really learn it, plain and simple. I also have a personal philosophy that if one of my students doesn't understand something than it is my problem and not theirs. My job is to teach and if the student struggles then I need to change my approach.
