Personal Description:

I am a 35 year old female teacher working full time at a secondary school in Monmouthshire whilst living in Newport. I have experience tutoring/teaching for several exam boards:
Pupil 1: OCR Core Science: biology, chemistry and physics tutoring for female tutee in Year 10 and Year 11.
Pupil 2: OCR Core Science: biology, chemistry and physics tutoring for female tutee in Year 11.
Pupil 3: AQA Additional Science: biology, chemistry and physics tutoring for male tutee in Year 11.
Pupil 4: AQA Separate Science: biology, chemistry and physics tutoring for female in Year 10 and Year 11.
Currently teaching WJEC specification at my school.

Available to tutor in Newport Area or areas within the Newport - Caldicot commute.
I am able to tutor at my own house or in the tutees house.

Teaching Experience:

I taught GCSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology for two years at a school in Warminster, and am now in my 8th year at a school in Caldicot teaching all three Sciences (with a timetable more skewed towards Physics GCSE teaching).

As most pupils take at least Double Science (where two grades are achieved by averaging Biology, Physics and Chemistry exam results), it is advantageous for a tutee to be tutored in all three Sciences and since I am able to tutor all three, I would prove cost effective compared to having 3 tutors, one in each Science!

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is highly flexible. I am able to tutor weekly, twice weekly, or as and when required. I have made several worksheets/resources which I use in my tutoring as well as powerpoint presentations/animations and video clips to bring Science alive and make it understandable. I have access to past paper materials for all exam boards. When requested, I set further homework to be completed after the tutor session that focuses on weaker areas of knowledge.
