Shelley - Beverley tutor

Information About Shelley:

Personal Description:

I have a keen interest in teaching and love working with children. I currently work in a Secondary School for children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs.

Teaching Experience:

To gain experience I worked with the RATS charity (Reading Assistant Teaching Scheme) to help children develop their literacy skills during my time studying ICT at college. I then had a number of school placements whilst I was at University, studying teaching, that allowed me to work with a range of diverse students with differing needs and abilities. I now work with key stage 3 and GCSE students in a school that deals with challenging behaviour and special educational needs. I have offered private tuition for three years and can provide references.

Tutoring Approach:

I am enthusiastic and committed to providing children with an opportunity to reach their full potential socially, emotionally and academically. I plan creative lessons in order to make learning enjoyable. I also am very flexible and meet each individual's needs by taking into account differing abilities and personalised learning. I create targets tailored to the individual so that they are manageable and learning can be moved forward and achievements recognised.
