51 years old, very interested still in teaching, wide range of interests. Vocational training specialist, particularly computer repair and diagnostics. TQFE (Teacher Qualified, Further Education), Specialist in Electronics, IT, Management, Business and Administration.



Teaching Experience:

20 years college lecturing experience, in Electronics and IT technology. Experience of projects, local and international, worked with Special Needs candidates for 8 years. Former examiner for City and Guilds subjects - SVQ Customer Systems Support (IT), Instruments and Testing.
Wrote a book in 1995 (Microprocessor System Fundamentals, Macmillan 1995). Teaching to NC/HNC/HND/City & Guilds/ and CNAA degree levels. Familiar with SVQ/NVQ system and portfolio construction. Qualified NVQ/SVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier. Microsoft certified, MCP, MCDST



Tutoring Approach:

Friendly and down-to-earth, student centred and methodical - different people learn in different ways and I try to accommodate this. Guidance, support and insight into problem solving helps candidates progress much faster. Independent learning encouraged, aided by available resources.
