Personal Description:
I am a secondary school teacher specialising in music, with a degree from Oxford University, and a wide variety of interests including ICT and photography. As an individual I am friendly and outgoing, with an enthusiastic attitude and a conscientious approach to work. I am mainly available during evenings and weekends, but may also be able to offer tuition during school holidays.
Teaching Experience:
I have gained most of my teaching experience as a music teacher in secondary schools, although I have given lessons in other areas informally. I have experience working with children of all ages from toddler to teenager, with a patient approach to teaching and a good understanding of how children learn.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to allow pupils to find solutions themselves, giving whatever clues are necessary to achieve this without providing them with all the answers. I am also keen to use whatever teaching aids seem appropriate in particular situations, including the use of technology.
