Information About Chloe:

Personal Description:

I am a recent graduate in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Wadham College, Oxford University. I have a great deal of experience in working with young people in various formats - tuition, summer schools, playwork, theatre - and am currently earning money to start up a project with children in young people in Guatemala.

Teaching Experience:

I have been informally tutoring friends and family for around three years and I also have extensive experience in working with young people who are applying to university through my work with Oxford University's access scheme. This work has involved ad hoc teaching and tuition as part of their subject taster programmes with university professors.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in encouraging the student to take responsibility for their own learning whilst at the same time imparting as much of my own knowledge on the subject at hand. I am very encouraging and believe in building confidence in the student but I also work to very high standards and am unafraid to push students to achieve their best.

I am very aware of different learning styles and will always make sure that my tutoring style is appropriate to each student but I also believe that this must be a collaborative effort and that the tutoring process is one of feedback from the student and constant adjusting of techniques on the part of the tutor.
