Information About Rie:

Personal Description:

My name is Rie and I am a Communication Design (graphics and illustration) graduate and I am currently training to be a teacher at a Further Education College.

Art is my passion and I love practicing and teaching it. I manage to bring art into almost everything I do, at the moment I am currently designing my wedding invitations!

I also own what some may call a 'small library' of books relating to art and artists, which I always use within my teaching and for inspiration.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach A Level Art and Graphic design at a Further Education College.

I have worked with a range of students, all at different levels, and have experience with students with learning difficulties.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that since I am a recent graduate, I am able to view projects from a students perspective as well as a teachers perspective now that I am training, which is very helpful when it comes to tutoring.

My main specialties are within Illustration, Graphic Design and Computer Illustration, and I particularly love doing project work within a sketchbook- which I find that students have the most trouble with- so I believe that I would be an asset to anyone needing help in this area!

I also have experience with light textile work, simple website design and crafts.

I understand that learning within a classroom environment is sometimes hard for students since there are a lot of distractions, and there isn't a lot of one on one interaction and tutoring from teachers, which is why I believe it would be beneficial for any student wishing to progress within art or graphic design to receive tutoring.
