Aurelie - Norwich tutor

Information About Aurelie:

Personal Description:

As French is my mother tongue, I have the ability to teach the language up to A-Level. Furthermore, I have had experience teaching Spanish to A-Level during my first year of teaching. I am keen in the organisation of MFL cross-curricular activities that engage and stretch all pupils in the subject: I have accompanied KS4 pupils on a school trip for GCSE revision to Cambridge, helped organise a day trip to Lille Christmas market at my current school and helped practise and accompanied Year 7 pupils to the French Spelling Bee competition in Cambridge. I am also part of the Suffolk Gifted and Talented Linguist Project "Going Global" which is further inspiring me to stretch the more able. Additionally, I have a solid and increasing knowledge of the National Curriculum and Statutory Framework for teaching Modern Foreign Languages. Furthermore my current post is challenging me in many areas: I have the responsibility of the French club and I am attached to a year nine form group in order to help the current form tutor.

Teaching Experience:

French Teacher for after school club in Cantley.
French tutor for a first year GCSE student, Norwich.
English tutor, different levels, Alicante, Spain.
French and Spanish teacher in an High School: KS3 to A-Levels.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring and being a teacher have the same kind of approach for me because it is a way to help pupils understand what we are explaining to them. However, my idea of a good tutor as well as a good teacher is finding out where the difficulties of the students are and helping them understand the topic in another form (by games, books, etc.).
