Personal Description:
I have spent 27 years working in industry as an accountant rising to the role of Finance Director. I have a broad spectrum of experience across all business functions.
Outside of my work experience I have a degree in geography with specialisms in hydrology and geomorphology. I have a keen interest in history and genealogy.
Teaching Experience:
Throughout my career I have successfully mentored a number of students through their CIMA exams and into rewarding careers. In the last 6 months I have been tutoring 7 different students with complete satisfaction, references can be provided. Exam results include successfully taking a student through the AAT Intermediate level, and helping an AS level Accountancy student improve from a projected E grade to a borderline B in 6 weeks! With more work this student is now predicted an A
Tutoring Approach:
I work in a consultative way and will aim to encourage the student to explore and truly understand the subject matter rather than learning by rote
