Personal Description:
I am a qualified and practicing solicitor with over 19 years of practice experience, 16 of which are post qualification. I am therefore able to provide an academic and practical perspective. I can assist with coursework and exam technique.
Teaching Experience:
I have no formal teaching experience. I have tutored people at degree level, post graduate (LPC and BVC) A level and ILEX in Law.
Many of my former students are qualified solicitors and barristers.I have also developed effective exam technique which is useful in all subjects and at all levels. I have been tutoring since 2004.
More recently I have begun tutoring adult learners in English and ESOL.j
Tutoring Approach:
When I have tutored previously I begin by establishing the level of the tutee and establish what their goals are. I then develop an action plan and usually divide the subject into small modules. I do provide revision notes and other learning materials. I happy to assist with coursework and exam preparation. For example planning essays/coursework assignments.
Most importantly I aim to inspire confidence in my tutees in the subject they are studying.
